孟凡成于1943年1月16日出生在湖北省鄂州市蒲团乡孟黄村。少年时先后就读于新民街高级小学、鄂城一中。1963年，考入中南矿冶学院；大学毕业后，与同窗恋人吴萍来到江西成家立业，育有两个女儿。1968年任江西有色冶炼加工厂担任技术员，1978年调入江西省冶金厅，后担任中国有色金属进出口总公司江西公司副总经理、江钨集团副总工程师直至退休。

孟凡成的一生担当实干、忠厚善良、勤奋朴实、乐于助人。攻读岁月，他勤奋好学，成绩优异，是十里八乡青少年学习的楷模；工作当中，他精通业务，忠于职守，是同事眼中运筹帷幄的领导，为江西的有色金属事业贡献了毕生的心血。作为长子，他孝顺父母，尽其所能关爱弟弟妹妹；作为丈夫，他与妻子恩爱一生共度金婚；作为父亲、外公，他慈爱有加，关怀每个儿孙的成长。退休后，他保持农民本色，种菜、钓鱼，享受天伦之乐。病痛中，他坚强乐观，患胰腺癌后仍奇迹般有质量地生活了六年。

残酷的病魔带走了我们最爱的丈夫、父亲、外公，带走了我们的主心骨、顶梁柱。但您留给我们的家风与爱，将是我们永远传承、永远守护的最美好的精神家园。我们永远爱您！请安息！

遗体告别仪式现择定于2022年9月11日，周日下午美东时间2点至3点于Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike (Rte. 108) Clarksville, Maryland 21029 举行。
