Virginia “Ginny” Louise Hanlon, age 82, of Brookeville, Maryland and Naples, Florida, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded with the love and support of her family on November 15, 2023. She was born in 1941 to Harry George Pirrung and Virginia Kathryn Kerins in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
She retired from Catalyst Healthcare Consulting in McLean, Virginia in July of 2023. Her life was her family, friends and her home. She was an energetic and uplifting spirit who enjoyed and loved life to the fullest. She had a wonderful zest for life and a spark that couldn’t be dimmed.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years John Hanlon, and her children Kathy (and Bill) Zonghetti, Jake Hanlon, Ginny Jones, Beth Hanlon, and Annie (and Brad) Lacey. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Zachary (and Allison), Luke, Bernice, Jacob, and Jack Hanlon; Cole Miles; Kelly (and Blake) Larsen, Kyle and Ashley Zonghetti; Hana and Danielle Jones; Tyler and Jenna Lacey; and her two great grandchildren Jameson Hanlon and Sophia Russell. She is also survived by her brother Nib Pirrung.
She was preceded in death by her son Michael Joseph Hanlon and her sister Molly Pirrung.
Family and Friends may visit Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at St. Louis Catholic Church at 10:00am. A Celebration of Life luncheon to follow mass from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm will be held at The Manor at Silo Falls: 19501 Georgia Avenue, Brookeville, MD 20833.
