Ronald Jordan Obituary

On December 31, 2020, Ronald Edward Jordan passed away at the age of 74 from congestive heart failure. Born in 1946 to Charles and Cecilia Jordan, Ron grew up in Baltimore and attended Loyola High School. Following attendance at the University of Virginia, Ron enlisted in the United States Army and served a tour of duty in Taiwan where he met his wife, Sunny.

Upon return to the U.S. in 1971, Ron obtained a job as an electrical engineer at Bethlehem Steel where he worked for nearly 30 years until the steel mill closed. He also co-owned Sardi’s Beauty Salon in Dundalk which he helped manage on the side for a number of years. In his spare time, Ron enjoyed crabbing on the Wye River, fishing for rock fish in the Chesapeake Bay and deep sea fishing out of Indian River Inlet.

Ron enjoyed gambling in all forms, particularly penny slots, poker, horse racing at Delaware Park, fantasy football and stock trading. Ron was an avid collector of coins, lapidary carvings and other treasures obtained at the many auctions he attended throughout the years. Most of all, he enjoyed good food shared with his family at dim sum brunches, diner breakfasts complete with lots of his favorite breakfast meats and his full cut prime rib casino birthday dinners.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Ryan) Roth, and son, Louis (Shanon) Jordan, and his grandchildren, Jack, Drew, Lauren, Falynn, Naya and Nakai. He was preceded in death by his sister, Claudia Grossnickle.

Interment will be held at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Baltimore, MD on Friday, January 22, 2020 at 10AM.
