Richard Martin Roberts, passed away on December 3, 2020 at the age of 92 due to health complications. He is survived by his beloved wife Melba. They have been married for 67 years.
Richard was born in Watertown, South Dakota on August 18, 1928 to Philp and Lillian Roberts. When he was 6 years old, the family moved to Springfield, Oregon where he grew up. At the age of 18 Richard enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He spent a year and a half overseas in the Korean War.
After 6 years in the Air Force, Richard resigned and went to the civilian life, living in Houston, Texas where he met and married his wife, Melba. After a year and a half, Richard became interested in the Missile Test Project at Cape Canaveral, FL. The couple moved to Florida and stayed for 18 years until the project came to a halt. At that time, Westinghouse (now Northrop-Grumman) from Maryland came and hired Engineers.
Richard and Melba moved to Maryland and have been here since. During the years, the couple has traveled around the world and have been to every state in the United States.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Louis Parish main sanctuary, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD. Interment immediately following St. Louis Cemetery, 5950 Ten Oaks Road, Clarksville, MD. 21029.
