Marjorie Marion Eileen (Windle) Kummer

108 years of true inspiration to everyone who knew her.  Born in Bayonne, NJ Feb. 25, 1913,  she passed away at Friends House Retirement Community, Sandy Spring, MD, April 2, 2021.  The daughter of Abraham and Ada Windle. She lived through the Spanish Flu of 1918.  Graduated Bayonne High School, Attended Montclair College for 2 years before having to leave because of the great depression of the 1930's.  She met her husband Sgt. Frederick Kummer and married him on August 12, 1933.  She gave birth to Joyce Elaine Kummer on Feb. 12, 1935. She moved to Cedar Heights, Annandale, NJ with her husband in 1955.   She was an excellent and talented piano player and teacher who received many accolades for her playing ability at many events over the years.  After the passing of Fredrick Kummer in 1973 she worked as a teller at Hunterdon County Bank which then became 1St Fidelity Bank until she retired from the bank in 1992.  She moved to Friends House Retirement community in Sandy Spring, MD where she lived out the rest of her life.  She is preceded by Frederick Kummer who passed December 22, 1973 and her Daughter Joyce Kummer who Passed from Covid-19 April, 24, 2020 and her granddaughter Kimberly Lentz in 2019.   She is survived by her Grandson and wife, Adam & Maggie Lentz, Granddaughter, Heather Lentz and Great Granddaughter Jesse Van Tassel.

Donations are accepted to: 1st Church of Christ, Scientist Gaithersburg, 302 east diamond Ave., Gaithersburg MD 20877.  This is a  501c3  and receipts will be issued for donations over $250.  

Also Donations accepted to Riverside Cemetery Association, 9 Hancock St, Clinton, NJ 08809.  And a receipt will be issued.

Memorial Service will be held at Friends House Retirement Community, 17340 Quaker Ln,  Sandy Spring, MD on May 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM.  Seating is limited due to Covid Restrictions. 

Interment will be held Sunday May 16, 2021 at 1:00PM at Riverside Cemetery, 91 Center St., Clinton, NJ next to Clinton Presbyterian Church all are welcome to attend.
