Marie Marlene Cherubin, 81, of Columbia, MD, went home to Jesus peacefully in her sleep on June 9, 2022.
Marlene was born to the late Alcius Cherubin and Victorieuse Charles Cherubin, on March 9, 1941, in Jacmel, Haiti. Marie graduated from college in Haiti, where she worked for The United Nations and UNESCO as a teacher and did international import/export commerce. Marlene also spent a large portion of her career as a catholic missionary spreading the good news of Christ to underdeveloped regions of Haiti. She later moved to the U.S. in New York City with her daughter to chase the American dream. With no knowledge of the English language, she attended night school, learned to speak English, earned her phlebotomy and nurse’s aide certification, and eventually her nursing degree.
Marlene continued her missionary work in the U.S. as a devout catholic. She proselyted across the New York City metropolitan area and became a known member of numerous catholic groups. Those who knew her called her a true angel on earth who always put others first in her thoughts, prayers, and actions. Marlene was immensely proud of her family and her faith and leaves behind nothing but beautiful loving memories. She would always say “Jesus Is My Boss!”
Marie is survived by her daughter Noelle M Cherubim and Granddaughter, Bianca S Toussaint. ed regions of Haiti.
The church service will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church Columbia, MD. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed HERE. The burial will take place at 2:30 PM at the Parklawn Cemetery. The family insists that people make donations in support of dementia research on your of sending flowers.
