Margaret McClure Gleason, age 96, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2020 due to congestive heart failure. Margaret was born on November 25, 1923 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Prudence Winters and Charles Grant McClure.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband John F. Gleason, siblings Charles G. McClure, Jr. Emily Shannon and Jean Clausen. She is survived by her sister Katharine M. Spurlock of Pensacola, Florida and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
John and Peggy served the United States on the frontlines of the Cold War, working all over the world.
Peggy loved to cook, kept an immaculate home, was skilled at sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was a devoted, active parishioner and volunteer of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Derwood, Maryland while a long-time resident of Mill Creek Town, also in Derwood, MD.
Peggy will be laid to rest in a private ceremony on March 25. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Derwood in the future. Due notice will be given.
