Louise Rose (Boarman) Adams of Marriottsville, MD, since 2017, passed away at home amongst her family on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the age of 99. She was born on February 15, 1924, in Brentwood, MD; the youngest child and only daughter of the late Elizabeth M. and the late George L. Boarman, the sister of the late brothers James Boarman and Florentine (Larry) Boarman. Louise is survived by her five children: John F. Adams III (Margaret), Antoinette L. Johnston (Robert), Lauretta A. Scribner (Donald), Marietta J. Eastham (Warren) and Marchelle D. Adams; together with fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren (including one on the way), and five great-great grandchildren.
Louise attended St. James Grade School, during which time, at the age of 12, her family moved to Hyattsville, MD. She then went on to graduate from Nativity High School with honors. Afterwards, she attended a business school and then worked as a Comptometer Operator for the federal government. While working as a cashier at the family’s business, Boarman’s Market in Mount Rainier, MD, she met her husband to be, John (Jack) Frank Adams Jr. This became his favorite place to shop! They married on June 3, 1946, after Jack had returned from service in World War II, and then they celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing on November 26, 1996.
Louise and Jack lived in the home they built in Hyattsville, MD for 40 plus years; where they raised five children. She was a devoted housewife and stay-at-home mom. In later years, she became the most fun loving grandmother ever; fondly known as "Grandma Weezie". Louise’s personal interests were a love for cooking, fashion and interior decorating. She and Jack were long time parishioners at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Takoma Park, MD before moving to Highland, MD, in 1989 (the second home they built), where they attended St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in Clarksville; remaining devout in their religion throughout their lives.
