Josephine Gennantonio Obituary

Josephine “Snookie” Gennantonio, 79, of Highland, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021 at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, MD.  She was surrounded by her loving family at the time.

Josephine was born May 26th, 1941, in Thomas, West Virginia to loving parents, Guy and Josephine Lamont.  She married Paul Gennantonio on April 20th, 1963, in Thomas, West VA.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; her four brothers: Sam Lamont, Philip Lamont, James Lamont, and Joe Lamont.

Josephine is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Paul; her son, Michael Gennantonio of Glen Burnie, MD; her daughter, Tricia Gilmore-Gennantonio of San Tan Valley, AZ and wife Alina Gilmore-Gennantonio; four grandchildren, Hunter, Grayson, Griffyn, and Saylor; sister Carmella “Camay” Popish and her husband Pat of College Park, MD.

Josephine loved her family and her friends.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, puzzles, and working in her yard and garden.  Those that knew her knew she was an amazing cook and loved cooking for family and friends.  Josephine was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Clarksville, MD.

Since Josephine was a breast cancer survivor, donations can be made to the Brest Cancer Research Foundation or the Susan G. Komen Foundation in lieu of flowers.  It was Josephine’s wishes to be cremated and memorial services will be determined at a later date.
