John Thomas Bell passed away in his home in Howard County, Monday morning March 15, 2021. John was born in Mathias, West Virginia on January 5, 1952. When John was a baby his family moved to the Dayton area in Howard County Maryland. John married his wife, Susan, in October of 1974 and over the next 44 years they adopted their daughter Vicki, and then were blessed with two more girls Meghan and Eimilee to complete their family.
John worked over 25 years for MNCPPC in Montgomery County as a Mechanic II. He retired two years ago to enjoy his two dogs, his hobby of restoring old cars, especially mustangs, watching old westerns and spending time chatting on facetime with his granddaughter Olivia.
John is survived by his wife, Susan Bell, his daughters Vicki Bell, Eimilee Bell, Meghan Strong and Husband 1st Lt. Taylor Strong, granddaughter Olivia and soon to be born Madelynn Strong. In addition, he is survived by his siblings Bill, Joe, David Bell and wife Dottie, his sister Ruth and her husband Kevin Mathis.
John is preceded in death by his father Thomas E. Bell, his mother Velma Mae Bell (Halterman), his sisters Debbie and Patty, and his big brother Phil.
John also leaves behind his many nieces, nephews, friends and coworkers who will miss his friendly smile and sense of humor. Happy Trails to you, JTB, until we meet again.
