Janice G. McCabe

Janice Genevieve (Dorsey) McCabe, 81, of Columbia, MD, went home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 2, 1942, to the late Liston and Genevieve (Bandel) Dorsey. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Lemuel McCabe for 59 years whom she met when she worked at Maryland National Bank.

She worked for over 20 years at the Laurel Police Department until her retirement.

Janice enjoyed gardening and caring for her family and her beloved corgis. Her happiest times were when she was surrounded by her family.

She lived her life honoring Jesus Christ, and she was our prayer warrior and supporter. We find comfort knowing she is in the presence of our Lord and has been reunited with Edward.

She is survived by her son, James, and his wife Jacqui of Laurel; her daughter, Julie of Columbia; and her grandchildren Jacob, Jenna, Emily, and Andy.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 2-4 pm at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029. An informal funeral service will be held on July 10, 2023, from 2-3 pm at Union Cemetery, 3001 Spencerville Road, Burtonsville, MD 20866.
