On Sunday, July 19, 2020 following a lengthy illness, Howard Nelson Stewart, Jr, was called to rest in the presence of God.
“Sandy” as he was fondly called by close family and friends, the oldest of two children born at the old Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. to the late Howard Nelson Stewart, Sr, and Beatrice Louise Dunn on May 12, 1941. Shortly after high school, he found his life long career as a Respiratory Therapist and empathy for the ailing. He attended Pitt University, SUNY at Albany, NY, Penn State, Frostburg State University, Allegany Community College and Salisbury State University. He was a family man and dedicated member of the PTA. He was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and loved to adorn the house, and himself, with accoutrements on game day. In fact, his favorite sporting event was the winter Olympics because it combined his favorite season and sports!
