Honey Gravagna

Born on November 4, 1934, Honey Gravagna passed away on May 21, 2022, from heart failure. She was 87 years old.

A loving and devoted wife and mother, Honey was recently predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Angelo and survived by their children, Fred and Noelle.

As a young woman, Honey was an airline stewardess based in Virginia Beach, VA, where she met Angelo, a navy pilot. Following their marriage and the birth of their son, they moved to the Chicago area where Honey was originally from, ultimately settling in the suburb of Glen Ellyn, IL.

Especially creative and talented in arts and crafts and sewing, Honey was involved in running many volunteer organizations, including the Glen Ellyn Junior Woman's Club, Children's Theater, and PTA. She was also the founding leader of a Cub Scout and Webelo troop. In 1977, the family moved to Glenwood, MD, where she continued her volunteering as founding and leading the Glenelg 4-H club. Honey earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Howard Community College.  Honey retired from her job as the executive assistant to the former Director at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

She enjoyed traveling with Angelo on motorcycle trips throughout North America, and after retirement, on RV trips across the US.

Honey will be interred with her husband in a double ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 25th 2023 at 1:00 pm.
