Florence D. Toffon, age 92, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2023, at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living Facility in Fulton, MD.
She was born at home in Washington D.C. on December 26, 1930, to Ralph and Albina DiGuilio, an Italian immigrant family. Italian was spoken at home and she learned English when she went to school. She graduated from Notre Dame High School and attended Strayer Business School, both located in Washington, D.C.
She had a successful career with and retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
She is survived by her sisters Louise Mele, Mary Radl and Virginia Duckworth. Pre-deceasing her are her brother Gino DiGuilio, and sisters Betty Gallerizzo and Josephine Bulinsky.
Florence was a devout Catholic, devoted and loving daughter, beloved wife of Alfred Louis Toffon who pre-deceased her, the most caring and compassionate mother to her son Anthony Ralph Toffon who also pre-deceased her and is survived by her two daughters Mary Louise Brooks and Teresa Ann Boarman, and the best mother-in-law to William Brooks and George Boarman.
She was the cherished Grandmother of Geoffrey Jackson and wife Michelle, Robert Jackson and wife Lindsay, Katie Brooks, George Boarman, Christina Boarman, Joseph Boarman and step grandmother to Bryan Brooks and wife Angie and Travis Brooks.
Florence was adored by her great grandchildren Shelley Jackson, Savanna Jackson, Remi Gunter, and step great grandchildren Jade Crone and husband Brandon, Amber Caruso, Chaz Brooks, Hunter Brooks and Max Brooks. She is also a step great great grandmother to Brandon Crone.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 27 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Monday, August 28th at St. Louis Catholic Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029 with Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 2 p.m.
