Don Karunasena

On Monday, March, 28 2022, Withanarachchilage Don Karunasena, age 77, passed away surrounded by his family. He was born in Kossinna, Sri Lanka to Withanarachichilage Don Baron Appuhamy and Pinnawala Podihamine. He immigrated to the United States in 1977 and settled in Austin, Texas where he worked at Texas Instruments for over 30 years. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening, and helping others-- especially, feeding those in need and assisting families who were new to the United States with whom he shared a friendly helping hand. He is preceded in death by his kind and loving son-in-law Dr. Kevin Wyatt McMahon and several loving brothers and sisters. He is survived by his dear wife (Deepani ), daughter (Enusha ), his two beautiful grandchildren (Desmond and Lumini) and brother (Sarath Kumara) and sisters (Wimala, Nanda, and Sheela) along with many loving extended family members and dear friends. 

The family would like to thank his oncology team and all of his medical care specialists for their tremendous efforts and care at Johns Hopkins University Hospital System and Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center.
