On June 17, 2022 Dolly Ligon went to be with the Lord after a 6 month illness. She is preceded in death by her father Wyatt Neal, mother Gracie Hudson, brothers Robert and Lee, sister Roseanne, Virginia, twin sister Polly and her oldest son Mark.

She is survived by her sister Mary Williams, her remaining children Sheryl Boccabello, her husband Stephen, Henry Hoke, his wife Kristy, Audra Hoke-Grimes, her husband Mark Grimes and daughter -in-law Susan Hoke. Her grandchildren Tammy Edwards, her husband Jae, Tony Hoke, Katelyn Hernandez, her husband Juventino and Lauren Hoke. Along with her four great grandchildren Charlize Edwards. Dolly was born October 11. 1945 in Clover, VA. She moved to Maryland where she married, had her children and worked at Laurel hospital. She had a second chance at love when she was reunited with an old boyfriend, Doc Ligon. They decided to move back to Virginia. There she worked for the Halifax County school system. After almost 20 years she retired to spend time with her family in Maryland.

No ones life is perfect. It is full of ups and downs. Dolly held fast to her faith in the Lord and is now reaping the benefits it in heaven. Those of us left behind still have our memories of a wonderful woman who brought humor, compassion and love to everyone she touched. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered.

Funeral services will be held at Powell Funeral Home July 17, 2022 at 2pm in Virginia.
