Dharam Raj Thamby peacefully passed away on April 25, 2020 at the White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, Maryland.
DR was born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India where he became a Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Christian and had a deep devotion to His Lord until his last breath. He worked as a cafeteria manager in three different SDA schools, two in India and one in USA. He retired from Sligo Elementary School in Takoma Park, MD in 2008. He had immigrated to USA on April 30, 1993 and was a member of the Sligo Seventh Day Adventist Church. In 2003 he became a naturalized US citizen and was very proud of it. March 15, 2020 marked his and his wife’s 70th Wedding anniversary.
Due to poor health conditions he went to Adelphi Rehab on February 28. His family used to visit him there every day. Then COVID19 happened and visitors were no longer allowed to access the facility. However, his family was able to FaceTime with him while at the Rehab. He was COVID19 negative.
He is survived by his wife, 4 children, 7 grand-children, 4 great grand-children and a host of extended family members and relatives.
