Bernadine Esposito Obituary

Bernadine "Bernie" Esposito, 77, of Woodbine, MD, passed away on November 14, 2023. She was born in 1946 in Roberts, Idaho. Bernie was a loving wife to her husband Richard for 50 years, a devoted mother to her children Elizabeth (Jarriel), Chris, Kate (Charlie), and Geoff, and wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren Collin and Cameron. She is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren as well as a large extended family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Wanda & Oscar, and her sister, Sara.

Bernie attended St. Mary’s Academy and College High School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Afterwards, she studied at Idaho State University, receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics. She had a successful career as a college professor, at Medgar Evars College (CUNY), Allegheny County Community College, the University of Baltimore, and the College of Notre Dame of MD. She was a beloved teacher, dedicated to educating her students in math and computer science.

Bernie was a friend to everyone she met, always ready to lend a listening ear or to share “bonus knowledge.” She was funny and whip smart. In her free time, Bernie enjoyed playing pinochle, going out to afternoon tea, reading, studying history, visiting historic battlefields, camping, skiing, and working on puzzles. Bernie also loved traveling with her family. Some of her favorite destinations were Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Walt Disney World, England and Scotland, Budapest, and Merida, Mexico. She cherished every moment with her loved ones and created lasting memories.
