Barbara Ann Kramer

Barbara Ann (Miles) Kramer, 91, of Oakland MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 25, 2023, at Dennett Manor Nursing Home. She was surrounded by her loving family and the caring staff who became like family to her over the years.

She was born on March 18, 1932, in Scaggsville, MD, to the late Lloyd and Ruth (Brown) Miles. She was the beloved wife of Donald E Kramer for 45 years, until his death in 1994. She was also predeceased by her son Steven Kramer, her daughter Lisa Downum, and her siblings Russel Miles, Robert Miles, Mildred Sweeny, Mary Lupton, and Eleanor Poe.

As one of seven siblings and mother of five, Barbara’s family was the love of her life.  There are many memories of large family gatherings, Sunday dinners, family vacations to many areas of the country, including camping in Deep Creek, Taylors Island and Ocean City MD.  Barbara would often load up her car and take a bunch of kids to an Orioles baseball game. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her sisters and her years in the duck pin bowling league.  She loved babies and was most comfortable rocking one of her many grand and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her sons, Wayne and his wife Denise,  of Oakland, Gary and his wife Tammy of Dayton, and Kevin and his wife Candy of Sykesville; her brother Donald Miles and his wife JoAnn;  her daughter-in-law Brenda Kramer and her son-in-law Allen Downum; her grandchildren Jason, Justin and wife Casey, Katie and husband Justin Baker,  Betsy and husband Derrick Dorsey, Jesse, Tracee and fiancé Mike Bradt, Amber and husband Timmy Doyle, Matthew, Donald, Allen,  Andrew, and Adam; and her great grandchildren Nick, Natalee, Jake, Jay, Nathan and Willow.   She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Dennett Manor Nursing Home for their compassionate care of Barbara.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, with a funeral service on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 10:00 am at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike (Rt 108), Clarksville, MD 21029. Interment to follow funeral service at Providence Methodist Cemetery.
