On December 19, 2019 Ashley Danielle Meissner of Clarksville, Maryland passed away.
Ashley was born in 1994 to Rob and Kelly (Farrell) Meissner in Columbia, South Carolina. She attended Fulton Elementary School, Lime Kiln Middle School, Cedar Lane School and Atholton High School. She enjoyed activities with her family including sports, concerts, plays, and family vacations in Maine and Ocean City. Ashley enjoyed being outdoors and her favorite place to visit was Disney World where she loved the rollercoasters. Ashley attended St. Louis Parish in Clarksville with her family.
According to her sisters and brother, “Ashley is a card-carrying member of the ‘Snark Patrol’, she giggled at crying babies, made her sisters watch terrible movies (to mess with them, not because she had terrible taste in movies) and insisted on having all of the armrests in the car.” She had a fantastic sense of humor and her laugh was contagious to all who heard it and a smile that lit the room. She was a champion at Candyland and lettered in Allied Bowling. Ashley had several newspaper articles written about her in her family’s effort to bring attention to issues around inclusion of children with disabilities in school and the difficulty families face in obtaining appropriate in-home nursing care for their loved ones with special health care needs. She was a true trailblazer and she definitely did things on her terms to the end.
Ashley is survived by her parents, Rob and Kelly Meissner, her sister Chelsea and brother-in-law Cameron Diggs; her sister Katy and her fiancé Quentin Murphy, her brother Matt, and her nephew Nathan and his brother or sister due this spring. She is also survived by her Grandparents Jeanne (Meissner) and Joseph Poncharik and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Tom and Kay (Keller) Farrell and Bill Meissner.
