Alice Miriam Nanteza Ntambi, passed away suddenly in her sleep on Monday March 16, 2020 at her home in Fulton Maryland. She was 39 years old.
Alice was born on May 23, 1980 in Kampala Uganda and grew up in both Baltimore MD and in Madison, WI in the USA. She attended Jeffers Hill elementary school in Columbia MD, and subsequently attended Hamilton Middle School and West High School in Madison WI where she graduated in the class of 1998. Alice attended Grace Episcopal Church in Madison where she frequently sang for the church and was recognized for her beautiful voice. Upon graduating from West High School, Alice moved to Ithaca, NY where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering from Cornell University in 2002 and 2003 respectively. Additionally, she earned an MBA and Master’s Degree in Public Policy from University of Maryland 2012. Alice was a business management consultant and data analysis specialist in the Maryland - Virginia - Washington DC area and worked for the US Postal service, Microsoft, Google, Ernest Young company and Significance Inc.
Alice was ambitious, unfearful to work toward her goals, as well as expected those who she loved to do the same. She excelled in her academics and was passionate about helping others succeed. She was fiercely loyal to her family, committed to obtaining an excellent education and worked hard with persistence in order to provide for her two young daughters. Alice had a personality that lit up rooms when she would enter, unintentionally taking everyone’s attention as she illuminated the space with kindness and warmth. Alice was unequivocally generous, always willing to give in order to make those she cared for happy. She was attentive, engaging, articulate, funny, extremely intelligent with a sense of humor like no other. She passionately loved her family and was relentlessly unconditional to all of us. Her driving motivation each and every day was to work hard so that she could to make her daughters happy and provide them with as many options as she could. The loss of Alice’s beautiful heart will remain with us eternally as we continue to celebrate the woman we were blessed to have had a part of our lives.
Alice is survived by her two children Mikayla Naggayi Mpoza, 10 and Samantha Nakubulwa Mpoza, 8, her parents Professor James Ntambi and Mrs. Solomy Ntambi of Madison Wisconsin, USA/Lweza-Mukono, Uganda, her brother Dr. James Alfred Ntambi (Diana Ndugwa, niece Babirye and nephew Kato) of Newark Delaware, Her brother Michael Samuel Semambo (Brittany) Ntambi of Madison, Wisconsin, her sister Margaret Nakatte Ntambi (Fiancée Mathias) of Columbia Maryland, her brother John Waswa Sebanyiga Ntambi of Madison Wisconsin, and her sister J. Norah Nakato Nantambi Ntambi of Madison Wisconsin. Alice will also be greatly missed by her extended family in Uganda, the USA, and all over the world. She will also be missed by many aunties, uncles, sisters, brothers in a supportive Ugandan community of Maryland – Virginia – DC area. Alice was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Yokana Mukasa Sebanyiga and Nataliya Nakazibwe Mukasa of Lweza-Mukono, Uganda and her maternal grandparents: Mikaya and Margaret Mutumba of Nfufu-Bunamwaya, Uganda.
Due to the Coronaviras, Alice will be laid to rest at a later time.
