On March 20th 2023, A. Eileen Sobus, 88, Passed away after a long active life with her husband, Paul Sobus by her side.
Eileen was born October 6, 1934 in Baltimore, Md., and then resided in Clarksville, Md for her entire life. She was a dedicated mother, and grandmother. Her life revolved around the kids' activities while growing up, vacations every summer and keeping the household a loving and learning environment. She greatly enjoyed being involved in school activities with all the children. Later in life she enjoyed the grandchildren and all their accomplishments. She also found time to work outside the home for 20+ years for a good friend in the insurance business.
She was a very active member of Saint Louis Catholic Church, and was involved in many volunteer activities including the Clarksville Picnics, delivering for Our Daily bread, assisting with church office activities and was routinely helping with funeral receptions.
Her hobbies and interests included cooking, and she was famous for her “paper thin sugar cookies”, family, gardening, reading and a little bit of golf. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her sisters until their passing. Eileen will always be remembered as vivacious, outgoing, loving and a selfless person. We are all better today for the example she left behind.
She is survived by her Husband, Paul J Sobus, Sr., and their four sons & wives, Paul & Kerstin, Dan & Cindy, Tim & Mary, Mark & Christina. Eleven grandchildren, Darlene Sobus, Julieann Sobus, Wendy Rose Sobus, Krysten Sullens, Kyle Sobus, Anna Sobus, Rebecca Sobus, Michael Sobus, Steven Sobus, Ben Sobus, Thomas Sobus and four great grandchildren, Charlotte, Wyatte, Otto,& Henry. Eileen was the last one of ten children and leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A. at 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, Md 21029 on Tuesday, March 28th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, Md. on Wednesday March 29th at 10:00am. Interment to follow at St Louis Cemetery
