Columbia, Maryland

In loving memory of Zeke Mattias Chan, who passed away unexpectedly on June 20, 2023, at the tender age of 3, in Columbia. Zeke brought immense joy and happiness to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Born on April 4, 2020, in Columbia, MD, Zeke was the beloved child of Ming and Diona Chan.

Zeke's happiness was a defining characteristic that endeared him to his family, friends, and teachers. His playful spirit was evident through his love for Hot Wheels, Cars McQueen and Mater, a musical cube, balls, tamborine, books, and cooking sets. Zeke's joy knew no bounds when he danced alongside his beloved siblings, Zelda and Zena, to the songs 'Run Baby Run', 'I Poop', 'E-I-E-I-O', and 'Scooby-Doo Pa Pa', Zelda and Zena Chan. His presence would light up any room, and his laughter was contagious, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

In addition to his vibrant personality, Zeke had a discerning palate and delighted in savoring his favorite foods. He particularly relished rice, noodles, mamon, bananas, yogurt, gogo squeez, fruita, Cheerios, milk, and agua-tea, which always brought a smile to his face.

In the past year, Zeke had the opportunity to embark on exciting adventures and explore new destinations. He flew on a plane to Disney World, Lego Land, Seaworld, and the Crayola Factory. Zeke also enjoyed a memorable Caribbean cruise with his family. He was especially enchanted by the sharks, turtles, and bubbles at the Baltimore Aquarium. These experiences allowed him to create cherished memories and further fuel his love for life.

Despite his short time on this Earth, Zeke displayed remarkable brightness during his first experience of school. There, he effortlessly made new friends and impressed his teachers and parents with his amazing progression. It is a tragic loss that his promising future was cut short so suddenly. His memory will forever be cherished by his grieving parents, Ming and Diona Chan, his adoring siblings, Zelda and Zena Chan, and his Ate, Stefanny.

A private ceremony will be held for the family on June 25th to celebrate Zeke's life and bid farewell to this extraordinary young soul. May his memory live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his laughter, boundless love, and unwavering happiness.
