William Michael Watson

William Michael Watson, age 74, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He will be remembered as a hardworking craftsman, cook, gardener, hunter, fisherman, mentor, and good-natured teaser, but most of all, as a devoted husband to the love of his life, Tracy.

Mike was born on August 22, 1951 to Evan William Watson and Lucille Nance Watson. Raised in Wheaton, MD, he later moved to Silver Spring, where he attended Springbrook High School and wrestled on the school team. He also spent many wonderful summers in Bladenboro, NC.

At 23, he founded Fairland Roofing and Seamless Gutters, beginning a lifelong legacy of skilled workmanship. He built his house in Highland, MD, in 1989, which became the home he and Tracy shared throughout their 32 years of marriage. He also cherished his place in Cedar Island, NC, where he loved to fish, clam, and oyster.

More than anything, Mike will be remembered for his playful spirit. Anyone who knew him could see that behind his blue eyes was a twinkle of mischief, always ready to tease, and always bringing laughs to those around him.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister, Lori Anne Watson. He is survived by his wife Tracy M. (White) Watson, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at his home in Highland, MD on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 3:00 PM. Summer casual attire is welcome. Additional services will be held in Bladenboro, NC and Cedar Island, NC, at a later date.
