William Richard Huggins II, “Bill,” passed away peacefully at home on February 14th, 2023. He is survived by his wife Nancy Ferris Huggins, his children Ricky Huggins (Saira Huggins) and Allison Gannett (Tim Gannett), and his two grandchildren Nora and George.
Bill was known by many as a widely respected expert in all fields of sports cards and memorabilia. He got his start in the late 1970s as owner of the Maryland-based House of Cards baseball card store, which remains in operation today after nearly a half- century. In 2002, he pioneered the realm of online memorabilia auctions and co-founded Huggins & Scott Auction House. He was a loyal friend, devoted family man and savvy entrepreneur.
He will be missed by many; however, he is resting in peace with his father Col. William Richard Huggins (Una Huggins), mother Justine Mingoia and brother Randolph “Fish” Huggins.
Arrangements are private at this time but there will be more information to come on a Celebration of Life.
