Stephen L. Philblad

Stephen L. Philblad, age 60, of Laurel, MD, suffered a heart condition and passed away on January, 1, 2023.

Born May 27, 1962 in Knoxville, Illinois, son of James R. Philblad and Marcia K. (Randall) Philblad.  Stephen held many titles in his life, from automotive mechanic to forklift operator, but his favorite role was being a father to Christopher J. Philblad and grandfather to Ryan J. Hartwell-Philblad. He was always there for them to offer his love, support, and advice. He loved nothing more than attending theme parks, monster jam, drag racing, demolition derbies, air shows, music concerts, and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Ocean City, MD and Carnival Cruises to the Bahamas. Despite his health-related hardships, Stephen had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed.

Stephen L. Philblad was preceded in death by, mother, Marcia K. Philblad. He is survived by his father, James R. Philblad. In addition, he is survived by his son, Christopher J. Philblad and spouse Robbie Jean Hartwell-Philblad, and grandson, Ryan J. Hartwell-Philblad. He is survived by his sister Jackie Basinger and brother-in-law, Jeff Basinger, nephew JB Basinger, and nieces Brittany Basinger and fiancé Nick Bowers and Brooke Barrick and spouse Josh Barrick.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, January 15, 2023 at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pk (Rte 108), Clarksville, MD 21029.
