Ruth Berzonsky

Ruth Hanna Berzonsky, 89, daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth Skirsky, passed away January 30, 2023.  Ruth lived in Laurel, MD and worked as a school cafeteria manager for Howard County Public School Systems before retiring in 1995.  Ruth was a devout Catholic, having converted when she married Mike.

Ruth is survived by her children Michele Cook (Billy); Bill Berzonsky (Suzy); Sherri Slattery (Joe), Lisa Kelleher (William), grandchildren, Leslie Cook; Colin Cook, Connor Cook, Kristen Ricci, Julia Rhoads; Emily Berzonsky; Kate Berzonsky; Joseph Slattery; Sean Slattery, Ryan Slattery, Michael Slattery, Meaghan Slattery, Monica Slattery, Jennifer Kelleher, Christopher Kelleher and ten great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Berzonsky, son, Bob Berzonsky (Theresa),  and brothers William Skirsky, Clifford Skirsky, Thomas Skirsky, and sister, Dolores Berzonsky.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 3, from 6 – 8 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A. (12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029).  Another visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, from 10 – 11 am at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church (9201 Green Valley Rd, Libertytown, MD 21762).  Immediately following the visitation, a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 am.

Following the funeral mass, friends and family are invited to a reception at Sullivan Hall, across the street from the church.

Interment will be at 2:30 at St. Louis Cemetery in Clarksville, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Ruth Berzonsky to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
