Roland Miller, of Laurel, passed away on June 4, at Sinai Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents Amos Miller and Rosella Miller. Roland is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years Ann Marie (Foster) Miller; sons Trevor Miller (Kelly) and Brandon Miller (Amy), all of Laurel; granddaughters Delaney, Brooke, Zoe, and Paige Miller; sister Fran Morris, and brother Ted Miller.

Roland was born and raised in Johnstown, PA, and served as a helicopter crew chief mechanic in Viet Nam from 1967 to 1968 with the United States Marine Corps. He worked for the General Services Administration as a manager for steam distribution before retiring.

Roland was a devoted family man, active member of First United Methodist Church in Laurel, MD-where his renowned sausage gravy was a highlight of any church breakfast-and served as a youth leader along with his wife, Ann Marie. Roland also was a member of the Goshen Bears, a group of volunteers who regularly spent weekends performing routine maintenance and repairs at the Boy Scouts of America Goshen Scout Camp in southern Virginia. He will be remembered as a caring man with a sense of humor and strong work ethic.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Laurel, 424 Main Street, on Saturday, July 18, from 11:00-12:30, followed by a repast for all guests.
