Ortans A. Hermina

Ortans Hermina, 86, resident of Fulton, Maryland, and Cairo, Egypt, left to be with God on October 3, following a long illness.

Born on March 17, 1937, Mrs. Hermina attended Minia Girls Secondary School, followed by Minia University; she received a Bachelor of Arts in English.  She maintained a successful Coiffeur business in Cairo, providing styles and bridal makeup for decades. She was known for her charitable work with a Cairo orphanage and later with various Coptic organizations.

Ortans is survived by her four children, George, John, Lilian, and Jackleen; her grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah, Lauren, Lilly, Miriam, Daniel, and Cristyanne.

Ortans was a member of the St. Mary’s Coptic Church in Western Howard County.
