Dr. Neil Munindra Etwaroo

(1953-2025)

Dr. Neil Munindra Etwaroo, 71, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, in Silver Spring, Maryland surrounded by his wife, daughters, and sons-in-law. Born on November 1, 1953, in Port Mourant, Guyana, Neil was a devoted son to David and Doris Etwaroo, and a loving brother to the late Michael, Leslie, Neville, Rudy, and Hillary Etwaroo.

After graduating from Corentyne High School, Neil migrated to Washington, D.C. for a study sponsorship at Howard University, where he achieved a pharmaceutical undergraduate degree. Upon graduating, he returned to Guyana in 1981, where he married Rukmini Devi “Mini” Etwaroo (née Persaud) of Berbice, Guyana. They began their life and started their family in Washington, D.C., instilling values of love and kindness to all, hard work, and nobility in their children.

In the 90s, Neil co-owned and managed Roosevelt Pharmacy in Washington, D.C. followed by working in retail pharmacy for several years while pursuing and completing his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Howard University. As a pharmacy manager, Neil served as a mentor to pharmacy students and provided medical counsel to underserved patients within Maryland and Washington, .D.C.

Neil will always be remembered for serving his community as a pharmacist, his dedication to family and friends, and his fun-loving personality. He is survived by his wife, Mini, his five daughters (Geetangeli, Davina, Priya, Govita, and Govina), his sons-in-law (Tony Goncalves and Rishiram Guyadin), and his expected grandson and granddaughter.
