Monica Josephine (Vilegi) Shavatt

On October 30, 2019 in Columbia, Maryland, Monica Shavatt (nee Vilegi) 88, died peacefully. Monica was born March 4, 1931 in Naticoke, Pennsylvania to the late Mary and John Vilegi. An avid sports fan and bowler, she most enjoyed her children and grandchildren. A proud American, Monica served her nation as an employee of the Department of the Navy, retiring at the age of 62. Monica is predeceased by her late husbands' Dusty Rhodes and the late Sam Shavatt. She is survived by her three daughters, Janet Novak, Nancy Hernick and Diane Fortner. Monica is beloved grandmother of Nicole Taylor, Erica Hernick, Stephanie Del;aney, Jesse Fortner and Monica Holmes.

Friends and relatives may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD. 21029 on Tuesday, November 5, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, November 6, 11:00a.m.at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Olney, MD. Interment immediately following Gate of Heaven. Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Elizabeth Seton High School, 5715 Emerson Street, Bladensburg, MD. 20710 in honor of her daughters and granddaughters.
