Michael Patrick Mitchell

Michael Patrick Mitchell (64) of Silver Spring MD, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024. He was born May 20, 1959 in Illinois to Betty and John Mitchell. Mike grew up in Arlington VA and attended Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, VA and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Business in Marketing and Management, with a minor in Economics from James Madison University. He pursed a career in sales with Motorola and DHL selling communication devices. Mike had a passion for family and enjoyed being called Grandpa Mike. He was happiest watching his Washington sports teams and college football, with a glass of wine in hand. Mike thoroughly enjoyed going on Ocean cruises and looked forward to planning the next. He is survived by his wife Kim, son Sean (Jennifer), grandson Jackson, brother John (Joy), mother-in-law Shirley Jarema, step mother-in-law Judye Jarema, brother-in-law Mark Jarema as well as nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mike is predeceased by his parents John and Betty Mitchell, father-in-law Frank Jarema, and sister-in-law Melanie Trutkoff. In leiu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, 3315 Greencastle Road, Burtonsville, MD 20904, followed by a service at 11:00am.
