Melanie R. Mcelvany

Melanie Robey McElvany passed away quietly on February 5, 2023, in Woodstock, MD with her husband Bob Hite by her side. She had waged a courageous 3-year battle against cancer.

She was born on June 23, 1959, in DuBois, PA to Archie Welles McElvany and Ruth Guienot McElvany. A longtime resident of Towson, MD, she worked as a computer programmer and Manager of Administrative Development for Loyola College for several years. She then became a very successful self-employed consultant for numerous colleges and universities over a period of 12 years.  Finally, she retired with her husband and partner to Davenport FL. She enjoyed cooking, fine dining, golf, and Disney. She even worked a seasonal position at Walt Disney World to be part of the magic. Melanie was a talented musician who played piano, guitar and sang. She was a member of the Cast Choir at the Candlelight Processional during Christmastime in Disney for 5 years. In the later years of her life her favorite role was Granny to her two young grandchildren.

Melanie was preceded in death by her loving father, Archie, and mother Ruth. She is survived by her beloved husband Robert L. Hite, her stepson Robert C. Hite, daughter-in-law Kerry Hite, her adoring grandchildren Wyatt and Eleanor Hite. She will be missed greatly.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 3 PM on Sunday April 30th at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville. The address is: 12540 Clarksville Pike, RT 108, Clarksville MD 21029.
