On December 12, 2022, Mary Emily Pollard passed away at the age of 74. She was born in 1948 in Poland to Chester and Emily Macner. She emigrated from Poland to the United States at the age of 11. She retired from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. She is survived by her son, Ryan Pollard, daughter in-law, Jennifer Pollard, grandchildren, Ava and Logan Pollard, and her brother and sisters, Stanley Macner, Alice Brown, and Laura Puchowicz, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mary was a Deaf woman who was widowed and raised her son alone. She remained active throughout her life, enjoying skiing, jetskiing, and boating, among other outdoor activities. She was an artist who specialized in Deaf artwork, hiding the “I love you” sign in most of her artwork. When not participating in one of her hobbies, Mary could be found enjoying long conversations with friends and family over margaritas with sugar, not salt, on the rim. She was steadfastly loyal and loved her friends and family fiercely.
