Mary Catherine McArthur

Mary Catherine McArthur (nee Alagna), age 66, of Ellicott City, Maryland passed away on January 23, 2026. Mary was born on February 11, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland. Mary was devoted to the Lord, her husband Mark for 45 years, to her sons Michael and Ryan McArthur, and a patriot to her country. Mary lived as a Proverbs 31 woman- hardworking, diligent, kind, God-fearing and a fierce defender of her family and children. Mary’s love for her family was endless and always the hostess with the mostess, always making sure everyone was fed with the utmost delicious food! Mary was an enthusiastic connoisseur of all things chocolate. She was the life of every party and gathering filling rooms with laughter and hospitality. Mary Catherine McArthur is survived by her husband Mark Edward McArthur, her sons Michael Christopher McArthur and Ryan J. McArthur. Mary was preceded in death by her father Frank T. Alagna and mother Mary Elizabeth Alagna and her brother Frank E. Alagna (Beverly). Mary is the sister to Deborah A. Bates (Ron), David J. Alagna (Therese) and Paul M. Alagna (Jennifer). Mary is a cherished aunt to a large and loving circle of nieces and nephews and will live on in their hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A. 12540 Clarksville Pike Clarksville, Maryland 21029 on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 1 until 4 pm.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in the spring.
