Martha D. Erskine

On April 17, 2022, Martha D. Erskine of Fulton, Maryland passed away peacefully after a long illness. She was 82 years old.

Martha was born in 1939 to William Edward Dugan and Virginia Candace Marshall in New York City. She attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College, during which time she fell in love and married Eric “Mike” MacDonald Erskine in 1962. Mike and Martha shared a love of horses and were active members of the local 4-H organization and the Maryland State Quarter Horse Association. Martha was preceded in death by her husband Mike after 42 years of marriage.

Martha enjoyed a lengthy career in real estate, but devoted much of her energy towards raising her four boys, riding her horses, and tending to her garden. Martha will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who cared deeply for her family.

Martha is survived by her four sons and their spouses Mike and Kathleen, Bill and Eileen, Ken and Monika, and Tim and Lisa; her seven grandchildren and their spouses Olivia, Katie and Carlos, David and Corrie, Ryan and Leah, Lukas, Alex, and Elizabeth; her two great grandchildren Will and Asher, her two sisters Isabell and Ellen; and her two Border Collies Sasha and Quinn.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 25th at 2:00pm at The Shrine of St. Anthony, 12290 Folly Quarter Rd., Ellicott City, MD 21042.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Dementia Society of America .
