Mark Steven Kraynak

Beloved and kind-hearted Husband, Father, and Grandfather Mark Steven Kraynak, age 74, peacefully passed away surrounded by family near his home in Silver Spring, Maryland on December 5, 2023. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania on April 15, 1949 to Steve and Margaret Kraynak, Mark was raised in McKees Rocks with his four younger brothers Dale, Bruce, Brian, and Joel.  He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, where he met his future wife of 51 years, Mary.   They got married in the summer of 1972 in Heinz Chapel. Together, they moved to Florida where he attended graduate school for social work. Later moving to Maryland, he spent his career with the DC government helping the community. He is survived by three loving children, Benjamin (Carrie), Darcy (Mihai), and Chelsea. Mark also has four incredible grandchildren, Jack, Eleanor, Abraham, and Magnolia. Mark was a wonderful father and grandfather who loved sports, gardening, and spending time with his loved ones.

Visitation will be held from 10 – 12 pm on Monday, December 11 at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029.  A funeral service will take place at 12 pm.  Interment will immediately follow at Union Cemetery, 3001 Spencerville Rd, Burtonsville, MD 20866.  Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the services.
