Marjorie L. Johns

Marjorie "Margie" L. Johns, 86, Mt. Airy, MD, died Feb 10, 2022 at home.  Born August 5, 1935 in Ebensburg, PA, daughter of William and Anna (McConeghey) Lipps.  Preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, William, Clair; killed during World War II, Harold, Ruth, Dorothy, Kenny, Richard, Helen, James and infant twin son Matthew Johns.

Survived by husband of 61 years Joseph R. Johns, Mt. Airy, MD, Daughters; Michelle "Mickey" Baker, (Tim), Ellicott City, MD, Susan "Susie" Johnson, (Kevin), Mt. Airy, MD grandchildren Matthew "Matt" Baker, Erin Baker and Jake Johnson, sister Donna Binaut, Ebensburg, PA and sister in-law Suzie Lipps (Harold) Ebensburg, PA.

Margie worked at Bell Telephone before marrying and moving to Florida.  They eventually settled in Laurel, MD, where Margie became a homemaker and raised their daughters and lived for the next 44 years. Margie and Joe moved to Mt. Airy, MD a year and half ago to be closer to family.

Margie most enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was the absolute best mom and grandma there was, totally devoted to her family.  She had weekly lunches with her girlfriends for many years.  Margie and Joe loved going to the Bowie American Legion for karaoke nights and dinners. She loved crossword puzzles, the Pittsburgh Steelers and coffee - she could drink it morning, noon and night. Most of all Margie loved family.  Being 1 of 11 children, she has a large extended family, which she looked forward to seeing at yearly family reunions, weddings and other celebrations.  She was so special to so many and will be missed beyond words.

Visitation will be on Saturday February 19, 2022 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm with a Memorial Service at 4:00pm at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P. A., 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029.
