Marilyn A Borghans

On April 12, 2022, Marilyn Ann Borghans of Ellicott City, Maryland passed away peacefully with family by her side. Marilyn was born in North Platte, Nebraska on April 16, 1936 to Leslie and Bertha Menking.

Marilyn spent her early years in Portland, Oregon, where she met her husband of 50 years, Lou Borghans. In 1963, together they moved to Chicago, and eventually resided in Barrington Hills, Illinois, having two children, Dries, and Lesley.

In 2001, they made the move to Marriottsville, Maryland to be with their family, and grandchildren.

Marilyn or MIMI, as many called her enjoyed painting classes at the community center making many wonderful friends, and many beautiful paintings.

She loved meeting anyone new, and anyone that ever was blessed to meet her found joy.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Dries Borghans (Kathie Johnson) of Mt. Airy, Maryland, Lesley Salandra (Michael Salandra), grandchildren, Taylor, Christian, Julia, Maria, Michael, Luc, Pieter, and great granddaughter Royce.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Bertha Menking, son Michael Adrian, and husband Lou Borghans.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on April 21st, 2022 at St. Michael’s Church, 1125 St Michaels Road, Mt. Airy, Maryland, 21771.
