Maria "Coty" Cleotilde Mejias

On January 28, 2023, Maria Cleotilde ”Coty” Mejias (Genovez) passed away peacefully at her home in Rockville Maryland.

She was born December 6, 1952, in Juayua, El Salvador to Jose Genovez and Marta Lopez De Genovez.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jose Genovez and Marta Lopez De Genovez; her son Julio Cesar Salazar and daughter Marta Elizabeth Salazar; and sisters Rohde Malinda Romero and Marty Genovez.

She is survived by her husband, Pedro Mejia Rivas; daughters Delmi Salazar Martinez (Alan Jonatan Martinez) and Nevi Harrison; grandchildren Oscar Cuzmar, Jonathan Martinez, Daniela Martinez, Tania Martinez, Misael Martinez, Alany Martinez, Leslie Qureshi (Omar), Derek Harrison and Nicolas Harrison; sisters Lilian, Dora, Marina, and brother Osmin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and MANY other relatives and friends.

Coty was hardworking and generous. She was devoted to her faith, to her church community here in the United States as well as her hometown in El Salvador.

Visitation will be Friday February 10, 2023, from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., located at 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Iglesia Pentecostal Emmanuel, 4411 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20011 followed by burial at 2:00 PM at Linthicum Chapel Cemetery, Clarksville MD 21029.
