Mabel D. (Doyle) Anderson

Mabel D. Anderson (nee Doyle) passed peacefully Monday, March 31, 2021 at Casey House Hospice. She was 96 years old. Mabel and her twin sister, Myra, were born on the family farm in Marietta, Ohio to the late John and Clara (nee Peppel) Doyle. She lived in Marietta until moving to Washington, DC to serve as a civilian in the U.S. government war effort. She lived in Adelphi, MD for many years before moving to Leisure World in Silver Spring, MD. During her life she was involved in Oakdale Church especially as a Mighty Oak member. She worked for the U.S. government in the Department of the Navy and later with U.S.D.A. She was an avid reader and would do crossword puzzles in ink!

Mabel is survived by her beloved sons Thomas and his wife, Judy and Timothy and his wife, Susan of Maryland, her grandchildren Thomas Jason Anderson of Virginia, Victoria Lee Anderson of Florida, Kevin Wall and Casey Wall, Brian and Kelly Gimbert, Blake and Jennifer Long of Maryland, and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving Mabel are the Harrod nephews Lawrence and Jeffrey of Florida, and William of Virginia, along with nieces Martha Cyrus and Nannette Doyle of Colorado, and Shirley Morrison of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Lingan Anderson, her twin sister Myra Harrod, her sister Fanchon Morrison, brother William Doyle, and nephew Anthony Morrison.

The family will receive guests at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville at 12540 Clarksville Pike (Route 108), Clarksville, MD Wednesday, April 7th at 10 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Mabel’s life at 11 a.m Rev. Dr. Kevin Baker will officiate. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service, also at Donaldson Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
