Lynn Robert Schilling passed away on July 24, 2024, at the age of 55 at Georgetown Hospital in Washington D.C. Born on May 24, 1969, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he was a beloved figure in his community, known for his kindness, generosity, and infectious laugh. Lynn attended Wheaton Woods E.S., Parkland Jr. High and Rockville High School. While At Rockville he was involved in many groups, he was most proud of being selected and serving as football Captain. It was at Rockville where he meet Karen, the love of his life. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland. He joined his father in the family plumbing business at a young age, eventually taking over and expanding the business after his father's retirement. His commitment to quality service and fairness earned him admiration and respect from his customers. Lynn was deeply involved in his community. He served as a Eucharistic minister at his church, St. Peter's in Olney, MD. He was an avid cyclist, a passionate youth football and softball coach, and served as an Assistant Scout Master for his son's Boy Scout Troop. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for hunting, hiking and golfing. If not working, spending time with his family or enjoying one of his many hobbies you could find Lynn talking to someone/anyone, Lynn never met a stranger. Lynn is survived by his wife, Karen JoAnn Schilling; son, Robert Edward Schilling; daughters, Caroline Grace and Amanda Renee Schilling; mother, Jean Ann Schilling; sister, Catherine Sabina Powell; and niece, Madelyn Jean Powell. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Charles Schilling. Viewing services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. The funeral will take place at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Olney MD, on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 11:30 am, followed by burial at St. Mary's of Barnesville, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Transplant Foundation or the American Liver Foundation in Lynn's memory. Lynn's legacy of love, laughter, and service will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
