Louis Anthony Palmieri Jr., 91, of Howard County – Lou to friends and family – passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023, surrounded by family. A Baltimore native and devout Catholic, he was a parishioner at St. Louis Catholic Church for 32 years. The son of Italian immigrants, he was active in his local Drum and Bugle Corps. He graduated from Poly High School and later attended the University of Maryland in the Air Force ROTC program and graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration, later service as a 2nd Lieutenant. He retired from the Federal Government in 1993.
He is survived by his wife Connie, her children Jeffrey and Christina, and his children Lauren, Louis III and wife Michele, Nicholas and wife Jeannette, granddaughters Gina and Danielle, Timothy and wife Margaret and grandson Daniel.
He is predeceased by his parents Louis Sr. and Josephine, brother Albert of Towson, and sister Roslynn (Albertini) of Reisterstown, and his first wife, Jeanne (Crabill), beloved mother of his four children.
He was an avid Orioles, Colts and (later) Ravens fan; he was also active in watching and coaching his Children's local football and baseball teams. He loved history – especially the Civil War – and often took his family to the Gettysburg and Antietam battlefields. He also enjoyed his home, reading, landscaping and tractoring his 3-acre spread, lunches with his former co-workers, going to the gym, travel, and golf.
In later years, Lou especially cherished spending time with his wife and family – especially his kids and grandkids – and he enjoyed good friends, good food, good wine, and a good Manhattan.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD, on Thursday, December 14th, at 10:00 am, with interment to follow at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville, MD.
