Leonard John Sladic

Leonard John Sladic, age 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 6, 2022. He was born on October 15, 1937 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John and Mary Sladic.

Beloved husband of Carolyn (Depp) Sladic; father of Wayne Sladic and Gary (Clare) Sladic; brother of Mary Lou (George) Kruth and grandfather of Isabella Sladic, Rachel Sladic, Jason Sladic, Katie Sladic, Valerie Sladic, Anna Sladic, and Gabby Sladic as well as loved numerous nieces and nephews.

He moved from Pittsburgh in 1960 to Clinton, Maryland to find work.  He found a job at PEPCO that challenged and fascinated him every day. He married Carolyn on June 29, 1963, and they had 59 wonderful years together. They built a home in Glenwood, Maryland and lived there until his death. He was a devoted husband and father that reveled in watching and coaching his sons play baseball, soccer, and basketball.

Len developed a passion for electronics, sports, and was a loyal fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Redskins while the Steelers still remained in his heart. He was an avid golfer and loved to both play and watch it.

Len was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church parish in Clarksville. He loved to sing in the St. Louis choir, volunteer for FISH to help those in need and had a strong faith in God.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Louis Catholic Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD on Friday, November 11 at 10:00 AM. Interment to immediately follow at St Louis Cemetery. Family and friends will be welcomed back for a lunch reception at St. Louis Church following the interment.
