Joan M. Wickesser

Joan Wickesser passed away on December 19, 2021.  She was employed for 28 years before retiring from the John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD. Joan was a loving wife, mother and "nana" who enjoyed working in the yard, spending time with her family and reading a good book.

She is survived by her children Jon Handiboe (Gayle), Debbi Compton (Russ), Donald Wickesser III (Maureen), Dawn Jennings; her grandchildren Tyler, Brandon, Claire, Rusty, Mckenna, and Miles; her brothers Tommy Miles (Becky) and Bobby Miles (Sandra); her brother-in-law Craig Wickesser and sister-in-law Kim Rahimi, along with many nieces and nephews. Sadly, Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald Wickesser, Jr in July 2019. Joan is also predeceased by her parents Elmer Miles and Dorothy Miles.

A Visitation will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD on Monday December 27 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday December 28th at 11:00am. Interment following at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery on Browns Bridge Road, Highland MD.
