Geraldine Green Gibeau

On March 6, 2021, Geraldine “Gerrie” G. Gibeau, 75 of Laurel, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of her home.  She was born December 29, 1945 to Joseph Jr. and Edithe Green in Bethesda, Maryland.  Gerrie married Joseph E. Gibeau on April 26, 1969 in Bethesda.  She retired from the Howard County Board of Education after 27 years of dedication.

Gerrie’s life exemplified her love of family and friends.  She took care to note every detail of anything her family and friends were involved with, as she took unselfish joy in their accomplishments.  She had a love for competitive swimming and sports, which her sons, Christopher and Michael, competed.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; sons, Christopher and Michael; sister, Patricia Green; brother, Joseph Green III; grandchildren, Graisyn, Eliza and Graeme; and several nephews and cousins.

Due to attendance restrictions of 25 people, we will hold a family graveside service at GATE OF HEAVEN Cemetery on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.  Gate of Heaven, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20906.  If they lift limitations in conjunction with Governor Hogan’s lift of limitations on religious services on Friday, March 12th, 5 p.m., we will invite all family, friends and others lives Gerrie touched to the graveside service and send an updated link.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the late Spring, early Summer, in Frederick, Maryland.
