George Marsh Batka

College Park, Maryland

On February 5, 2021, George Marsh Batka, 78 of College Park, Maryland, passed away at Hillhaven Assisted Living.

He was born in 1942 to the late George Franklin Batka and  the late Virginia Marsh Batka. He retired from Prince George's County Public Library. He enjoyed many sports, especially UM Terrapin football and men's and women's basketball, Washington football and Nationals baseball. He also enjoyed reading Grisham and Patterson novels as well as World War II non fiction.

George is survived by his brothers, James F. Batka (Noel), John F. Batka (Mary Kay), his sister, Mary Batka Depenbrock (John),and several loving nephews, Jim (Joyce), Rick (Clara), Jeremy (Emily), Brian, Brett (Allyse), and niece, Julie, and great-niece, Blakely, and great-nephew, Thomas.

A private funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, February 11, @ 1:00 p.m. at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A. 12540 Clarksville Pike (21029) and will be live-streamed. To watch the Live-streaming of this service click HERE .

Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a future, as yet undetermined date.
