Francis "Frank" B Walsh

Francis B. Walsh (U.S. Army Retired), 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Laurel, MD surrounded by his family on December 8, 2019.

Born in Pottsville, PA on February 17, 1930, he was the son of the late James T. Walsh and Helen Flanagan Walsh.  Frank served in the U.S. Army and National Guard (Artillery) from 1948-1969 attaining the rank of Captain.  He worked in the Underground Lines Department at Pepco for 34 years retiring as a General Foreman in 1991.  After this he worked at Paint Branch Golf Course for 20 years.

Frank was a member of Saint Mary of the Mills Catholic Church.  He enjoyed playing golf, liked to read a lot, especially about history and loved sports.  He will be remembered most for his warm friendship and love of family.

Frank is survived by Marie, his wife of 62 years; son Brian (Roxzane); daughter Patty Fusco (Chuck).  Five grandchildren: Rebecah and Sean Walsh, Kristin McDermott (Billy), Beth Ann Kersse (Drew) and Lauren Aucoin (Spencer).  Also survived by five great grandchildren: Alivia, Abby and Caden McDermott; Quint and Kenna Kersse.  He was preceded in death by his two brothers:  James E Walsh of Pottsville, PA and John B (Jack) Walsh of Orwigsburg, PA.

Visitation will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Home in Clarksville, MD, 12540 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029 on Friday, December 13 from 5:00 to 8:00pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church in Laurel, MD on Saturday, December 14 at 10:00am.  Interment private.
