Edmond "Ed" C. Holweck

December 14, 1931 — September 13, 2024

Clarksville, Maryland

Edmond Charles Holweck, 92, of Clarksville, Maryland departed this life on Friday, September 13, 2024.

Born December 14, 1931, in Hamburg, Germany, he was the son of the late Rudolph Carl Holweck and late Margaret Freida (Otte) Holweck.

Ed began his professional career as a Draftsman at Harry Diamond Labs, where he met Jane, the love of his life, to whom he was married for 66 years, until his passing. He later worked for NASA at Goddard Space Flight Center until his retirement. Ed earned dual degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Maryland at College Park. In retirement, Ed and his wife, Jane, were snowbirds, spending their winters in Ponce Inlet, Florida.

By nature, Ed was warm, kind, gentle, loving, and easy-going. He loved his family and friends. He was also a man of many talents and he was a role model to all who knew and loved him.  While finishing his dual degrees, Ed was working full time, attending classes at night, being a devoted father, and building his third of five houses, in which he ultimately raised  his children. He was a builder by hobby and he could fix just about anything mechanical or structural. He could literally do just about anything. He took great pride in doing a job and doing it well. When he decided to build a pool for his family, he dug it by hand. It took an entire summer and all of his vacation time, but it was beautiful! He loved growing his gardens, especially vegetables and roses, and working on the farm.

He  remained a kid at heart his entire life. He loved trips to amusement parks, the beach, swimming, boating, crabbing, and just sitting and enjoying nature's beauty, whether at the beach or from the haven of his sunroom overlooking his farm. He loved his family and his sweet pups, Camie, Ashley, Frankie, and Annie.  Spending time with his wife, his children, and his grandchildren was his greatest joy.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years Etta "Jane" (Duke) Holweck; daughter Susan Holweck Coe, son-in-law Ben, and grandchildren Edmond “Christian”, Emily, and Matthew; daughter Karen Holweck-Mulreany and son-in-law Tim; daughter Valerie Holweck Keeley, son-in-law Mark, and grandchildren Charles “Justin” and Ryan; son Chris Holweck, daughter-in-law Dana, grandson Ethan, granddaughter-in-law Ren, and granddaughter Aubrey.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville, P.A., 12540 Clarksville Pike (Route 108), Clarksville, MD 21029.
