Dowell W Hopson, Jr

On November 30th, 2020, Dowell W. Hopson Jr., age 74 of Columbia, MD passed away due to complications from multiple strokes.  He was born in 1946 to Dowell Hopson, Sr. and Virginia Banks in Poquoson, VA.  He retired after 40 years of dedicated service in the Federal government (20 years in the US Army and 20 years for the US Postal Service).  After retirement, he devoted much of his time to his family.  He is survived by his wife Yong, daughters Suyon Oh and Chiyon Lee, grandchildren Brian, Brittney, Kristina and Brandon, and sister Janice Barkers.  He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Hopson.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to family and friends for their love and support as well as the medical staff who took care of Dowell during his last few months.

Due to current conditions, a private family ceremony will be held on Wednesday December 9th at Donaldson Funeral Home in Clarksville, MD.
